Konstantin Novoselov

Konstantin Novoselov is an expert in condensed matter physics, mesoscopic physics and nanotechnology. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for his achievements with graphene.

ProfessorSir Konstantin ‘Kostya’Novoselov,FRS,was born in Russia in August1974. He has both British and Russian citizenship. He is bestknown for isolating graphene at the University of Manchester in2004, and is an expert in condensed matter physics,mesoscopicmanbet手机版物理和纳米技术。Every year since 2014,KostyaNovoselovhas beenincluded in the list of the most highly cited researchers in the world.He was awarded the2010Nobel PrizeinPhysics for his achievements with graphene. Kostya holdsaTan Chin Tuan Centennial Professorshipat the National University of Singapore. He is alsoparttimeLangworthyProfessor of Physics and Royal SocietyResearchProfessorat the University of Manchester, UK.

Novoselovgraduated fromthe Moscow Institute of Physics andTechnology, andundertookhis PhD studies at the University of Nijmegen in the Netherlandsbefore moving to the University of Manchester in 2001.He laterjoinedthe National University of Singapore in 2019.Novoselovhas published more than350 peerreviewedresearch papers. Hehas beenawarded numerous prizes, includingtheNicholasKurtiPrize(2007),theInternational Union of Pure and Applied Science Prize (2008),MIT Technology Review’s‘InnovatorsUnder 35’(2008),theEurophysicsPrize (2008),theBragg Lecture Prize from the Union of Crystallography(2011),the Kohn Award Lecture (2012),aLeverhulme Medal from the Royal Society (2013),anOnsagerMedal(2014),aCarbonMedal(2016),aDaltonMedal(2016)and theOtto Warburg Prize (2019),among many others. He was knighted in the 2012 New Year Honours.
